As part of his duties under head coach Guy Rancourt, Marino is actively involved in all aspects of the program. Coach Marino will be heading up guard development, the recruitment of Pennsylvania / Maryland area prospects, and sharing the scouting duties of upcoming opponents. |
A native of Curwensville, Pa, Marino graduated in 2001 from Lock Haven University with a degree in secondary education focusing on social sciences, in addition to earning a minor in psychology. He is currently completing his master’s degree coursework in academic counseling at Bucknell University.
Marino’s coaching career began at Francis Scott Key High School in Union Bridge, Maryland, where he served as the junior varsity head coach and assistant varsity coach during his three-year tenure under Jeff Cook, Francis Scott Key’s leader in all-time victories.
Upon leaving his position at Francis Scott Key, Marino returned to Pennsylvania and served as the head coach at Warrior Run High School for the 2007-08 campaign.
His experience working at elite camps, such as The Hoop Groop’s Eastern Invitational Camp and appointed guest instructor for Penn State’s basketball camps for the previous two years, will serve him well in his new role as the Director of the Guy Rancourt Basketball Camps at Lycoming College.
Guy Rancourt on his new Assistant Coach, Mark Marino:
"I am excited to have Mark join the staff here at Lycoming College. His work ethic, attention to detail, and contacts within the coaching community will certainly be an asset to the program. On the summer camp circuit, Mark has been developing some of the best high school players in the country, and I couldn't ask for a better coach to oversee our camps. We are happy to have him join our family."
Marino currently teaches 11th grade American History at Warrior Run High School, and resides in Williamsport.
