EAST COAST COMES UP SHORT
Paris, France - Despite double double efforts from Kansas State's Jamar Samuels and Harvard's Keith Wright, the East Coast All Stars were unable to come up with a victory against the Tunisian National team Friday night by the score of 111-85. St. John's Paris Horne continued to play well, while Purdue's Lewis Jackson and Arkansas' Jeff Peterson combined for 14 assists in the contest. Kansas State's Nick Russell and Notre Dame's Scott Martin ran into early foul trouble and were unable to get into a consistent flow throughout the game. Lycoming's trio of Ethan Lee, Sebastian Sabella, and Will Kelly all had solid efforts. Lee finished with 4 rebounds, Kelly 8 points and 3 rebounds, and Sabella led the team in scoring with 13 points and 2 assists.
 
Saturday the team spent the day on a river cruise touringthe sights of Paris, and finishing the evening high above the city on top of the Eiffel Tower. The All Stars are expected to arrive back into the United States Sunday afternoon where they will depart back to there various Universities.

EAST COAST CRUISES PAST PARIS SELECT

PARIS, FRANCE - The East Coast All Stars came out on fire Thursday evening and refused to let up. Purdue's Lewis Jackson and Harvard's Keith Wright sparked a 16-4 run to open up the game in route to a 100-73 victory against a talented Paris Select Club. Jackson was in full control throughout the game registering 13 points along with tour records of 9 assists and 6 steals. Wright dominated the paint as Jackson handled the perimeter. Wright's 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 1 assist gave ECA a true presence inside. The Kansas State duo of Jamar Samuels and Nick Russell led the way in scoring with 15 points each. St. John's Paris Horne (11 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals) and Arkansas' Jeff Peterson (12 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists) were once again consistent threats for the All Stars.
 
The team toured the Louvre museum prior to yesterday's game where they took in such world renouned sights as Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa and the ancient Greek sculpture Venus de Milo created between 130 and 100BC.
 
The team will play its final contest of the tour this afternoon at 2:00PM Eastern Standard Time in a rematch with the Tunisian National Team. Tunisia is in preparation for the World Championships where they are slated to compete against Team USA September 2nd on ESPN.

MARTIN'S DOUBLE DOUBLE NOT ENOUGH

Paris, France - Notre Dame's Scott Martin had 14 points and 12 rebounds, his 2nd double double in 3 contests for the East Coast All Stars, but it was not enough Wednesday night as the Tunisian National team defeated ECA 104-85. Kansas State's Jamar Samuels, who was hampered by foul trouble, finished with 14 points and a team high 5 blocked shots. St. John's Paris Horne started an 8-0 second quarter run with an acrobatic finish at the basket and steal before attempting to dunk over Tunisia's 7-1 center.

Tunisia has a FIBA World rating of top 50 (43rd). They are in preparation for the upcoming World Championships in which they are in the same pool as the USA team comprised of NBA players featuring Kevin Durant, Rudy Gay, and Derrick Rose to name a few.

The All Stars will compete against the British All Stars this afternoon at 2:00PM Eastern Standard Time.

EAST COAST RUNS OUT OF TIME

FREIBORG, SWITZERLAND - The East Coast All Stars stormed back from a 23 point 4th quarter deficit, but ran out of time as the Swiss National Team came away with a 96-91 victory Monday afternoon. Free throw shooting continued to haunt ECA as for the second game in a row the team shot 8 for 18 from the line.
 
The All Stars were in an uphill battle from the start as the Swiss Team connected on 5 of their first 6 three point attempts to open up a 58-39 halftime lead, The fouls mounted against the Americans as well with a halftime total of East Coast 13 and the Swiss just 4.

The third quarter was a back and forth affair with the Swiss keeping the margin at 81-64 by shooting a blistering 62% from three for the game. The fourth quarter proved to be, what the coaching staff hopes, is a turning point in the tour as the All Stars dominated both ends of the floor outscoring the Swiss 27-15. The final two minutes of the game ECA went on a 17-2 run, but time was not on their side.
 
Kansas State's Jamar Samuels led all scorers and rebounders with 24 points and 11 rebounds, Lycoming's Will Kelly had a breakout game as well with 15 points, and for the second game in a row Arkansas' Jeff Peterson led ECA in assists handing out 6 of them.
 
Tomorrow morning the All Stars will board the train for Paris, France where they will take in numerous sights and enjoy one day off before facing a strong Tunisian National Team Wednesday evening. Gametime is set for 2:00PM Eastern Standard Time.

INJURY REPORT - Harvard's Keith Wright suffered an elbow to his upper lip that were intially thought to require stitches, however doctors determined that stitches would not be necessary. His status to participate on Wednesday is likely.

EAST COAST DROPS OPENER
FROEBORG, SWITZERLAND - In a back and forth contest Sunday evening the East Coast All Stars came up short in an exciting 92-80 win for Switzerland. Down 9 points going into the final quarter of play, ECA stormed back to take a 69-68 lead with 6:49 top play, but back to back 3 pointers by Westher Molten gave the Swiss a 74-69 lead that they would not relinquish. Former University of Iowa standout Greg Brunner proved to be the difference in the contest by controlling the glass and finding the open man for three.
Brunner, who finished the contest with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, officially became a Swiss citizen yesterday, and will now join the team for the Wolrd Championships beginning in two weeks. This was the first time the Swiss National team played has played in front of their fans as their new 7,000 seat arena was unveiled.

For East Coast, poor free throw shooting (8-18) and missed layups (9 in all) proved to be the difference in the contest. Kansas State's Nick Russell led all scorer with 23 points, while Notre Dame's Scott Martin led the team in rebounding with 9. The All Stars will have a rematch of tonight's contest against the Swiss National Team tomorrow at 10:00AM Eastern Standard Time.
